Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – The sign for Got Jerk Island Grill & Juice Bar, a locally owned Jamaican restaurant, is now hanging at the former location of Ted’s Bar and Grill at 2nd & Sayford Streets in midtown, and will be open for business on December 26, 2023 at 11:00am.

The Chef, Kenny Henny, is a Jamaican native who now lives in Central Pennsylvania.

The restaurant will soon be relocating from the existing location on Union Deposit Road, to 2nd Street, according to Nik Sgagias and Amber Corbo, of NAI CIR real estate company in Lemoyne.

Island Grill’s food is cooked from scratch using the sauces. The menu expands on basic Caribbean dishes such as jerk chicken and curry chicken with options for bowls and burritos. Bowls are fashioned from meat placed atop choice of rice and beans or potato cubes, as described by Sue Gleiter.

The restaurant will continue offering “bold robust flavors” with an emphasis on wings, including Hot & Tasty, Jerk Spicy, Pineapple Calypso and Buffalo Soulja wing sauces.The addition of juices will include exotic Caribbean juices such as sorrel, carrot and Irish moss, made with sea moss and milk.
